Remote Service!
Until COVID, I have not been a fan of remote office development, especially one person locations. Certainly, there are people who have successfully done this with good consultants, but the common problems are poor control and weak training. However, in light of todays health risks, remote may be the best answer. How do you handle remote consultants? Care, consistency and close matrix reporting. You need consistent, retreivable training that keep the individual motivated and on track.
If you have struggling desk level performers in house, especially those not driven (low P), you can count on the problems multiplying in a remote situation. Reporting statistics, with expected results is your only safe tool. Daily follow up by phone to check these things, offering guidance where needed will also be of help. But expect to lose those less driven, motivated or skilled. They need a team around them to provide support.
Our PEAC System® evaluation can help you identify those self-driven, determined profiles most likely to relish the independence of remote. Our Online Training System for visual and physical training, easily conducted among your people and you via telephone and onscreen, can help in the all important consistency of training and management requirements. Check it out. One time fee per segment, yours without further investment. Three segment sizes to choose from. Check Peacsys.com for more information. Keep in mind, the best investment, at any segment level is the full package! It is difficult to build excellent recruiters, for example, and have them wither on the vine because you have poorly trained marketing people. Plus, if you add the other half, later, the fees exceed the initial full package, anyway. Think about it.
There is a less expensive, DIY system avalailable, too. If you would like an in-hand guide, click the header above to check out my new Guide to Successful Hiring in the Personnel Services Industry. It is full of tips and tricks and many optional tools that can make a difference!
