OPEN/STRESS STYLE REPORT

ON THE ERL PEACN(m) V. NARROW
This report is on the facade, most often, a temporary response to environment or other pressures. People under the pressures of a new management system or a new company, even new responsibility, tend to revert to their INNER/BASIC profile for sometimes long periods of time during the learning curve. If this OPEN/STRESS report is more interesting for your use than the inner profile, you must be certain to verify the stability of the individual's stress performance on a long term, day to day basis, usually with references and extended interviews.
Hiring, promoting, even transferring an individual based on a stress profile is very risky, indeed. More than likely, the individual, over time, will evidence the INNER/BASIC more often than this report. A strong stability factor, accompanied by two or more years experience in the same position for someone else may create a better match. Anyone can be trained to do anything, given time and money, and it is always better to have had someone else's money and time used to bring the individual up to your level of need, than your own... The rules for reading this report (using can be...) are the same as the first pages, keeping in mind that these are more likely transient characteristics... Remember, read all portions of this report carefully.
These facade profiles may seem to enjoy environments that are systematic and have a reliable structure in place. They may appear more comfortablewith set rules and regulations to govern their work days. If the facade is stable, should be loyal to company, group or other 'organizational' structures. But, bear in mind that no facade is an everyday occurrence without years of systematic exposure and controls. Facades change, often very quickly.
This is essentially a narrow profile, showing no overly strong dynamics in any given trait. As such, they may be considered chameleon-like, in that they can change at will to a different style, sustained by the Energy Reserve Level. This ability to sustain is much stronger with the ERL above 50, but much less if ERL is below the 40.
f this facade is stable enough, the profile might be useful as good 'systems' people, whether through equipment or policies and procedures. Fast learners, assmining intelligence, when they accept the program. Once the facade is proven stable, supervisors must sell well to generate enthusiasm or the project will suffer. But again, all of these traits may appear, for the most part, with no intensity at all.
Even a well proven facade is susceptible to easy change. Under pressure of a new environment, the facade may crumble and the BASIC SELF will emerge. If the BASIC PROFILE is of no interest, we can only strongly advise that you carefully consider the ramifications of a hire based on this facade, or OUTER/STRESS style. Turnover is directly related to function/style mismatch, and betting the farm on someone only 'sounding good' in transient style is a poor business decision. Of course, they can sound good in the INNER/BASIC, too, so references and deeper digging are always required. This evaluation system is only a part of the complete puzzle. But, as always, there are countless reasons why you might hire and therefore, it is your decision....
